This famous Sicilienne, attributed to Maria Theresa von Paradis, here arranged for violin and cello duet, has some degree of drama behind it!  It may not have been written by von Paradis at all, but rather was attributed to her after her death.  As to the actual composer, there are only speculations, but tradition will out, so Maria gets the credit!
 
This piece is for more advanced players, and gives the full harmonic experience.  It's the perfect encore piece to cap off your duet recital!
