So there's pop music. Then there's film score. Then there's 'May it Be' by Enya. We've long been Lord of the Rings fans, in book form as well as film, and who can think of a score that more perfectly captures the moods and feels of a world? In fact, we have a theory that Enya actually went to Middle Earth and plagiarized this song from the elves... but we've been having trouble proving it.
One of our main goals as a duo is to equalize the roles of the instruments (Join our movement: Cellists Unite Against Unequal Representation – We're looking at you Pachebel...) There are many lesser known classical works written for violin and cello, but they usually feature the violin, relegating the cello to pretty boring bass stuff. I mean, Adam enjoys that as much as the next cellist, but sometimes a cellist's gotta shine!
One of the things we pride ourselves on in a piece like this is our ability to always carry a 3 voice harmony. This is easier said than done on stringed instruments, almost like going on a trip and destroying a piece of jewelry... wait, that doesn't sound so hard... there must've been more to it than that...
